Black Dirt Distillery was established in March 2012 to meet the popular demand for Black Dirt Bourbon and Black Dirt Apple Jack. The distillery in Pine Island, NY, was completed in 2013 and features a 4,000-square-foot facility and a 60-foot distillation column.

The distillery is in the heart of the Black Dirt region in New York, and each Black Dirt Single Barrel Bourbon is meticulously crafted from unique grain ratios, aged in new charred oak, and hand-selected for its distinct flavor.

As the first micro-distillery in New York State, Black Dirt Distillery has received critical acclaim for its award-winning brandies and liqueurs under the American Fruits brand and for its Warwick gin.

The distillery’s vibrant spirits use ingredients sourced directly from the Black Dirt region, making them stand out. Visitors can taste and sample the Black Dirt Bourbon and Black Dirt Apple Jack at the Warwick Valley Winery’s tasting room and store in Warwick, located at 114 Little York Road. These products are also available in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

BLACK DIRT Bourbon
It takes its name from the dark, fertile soil left by an ancient glacial lake that once covered Thousands of acres of upstate New York. Perfectly suited for growing crops such as corn, this Black Dirt has never been used for Bourbon production—until now.

BLACK DIRT Rye
Distilled from 100% NY rye grown in upstate New York, the mash bill consists of 90% Rye and 10% malted rye. It is 100 proof and dark amber in color. The whiskey is complex, offering pronounced notes of caramel and rye spice with a chocolate and malt finish. It is a great sipping rye and exceptional when mixed in cocktails.

APPLE JACK
The quintessential American spirit is imbued with history, controversy, and fruit. Before prohibition, the Black Dirt Region was home to dozens of Apple Jack distilleries. Now, Black Dirt Apple Jack carries on this local tradition with 100% Apple Brandy aged a minimum of 4 years in new charred American Oak Barrels.
