We encourage sound, well-planned growth balanced with the conservation of our important natural resources and working landscapes to ensure healthy and vibrant communities for the benefit of all generations.

- Stewardship
- Public Education

Stewardship
Since our founding in 1985 we have protected over 43,500 acres of important farmland, precious water resources, irreplaceable wildlife habitat and scenic views for the benefit of our community today and for the future.
Through voluntary land transactions with private landowners, conservation land planning assistance and continuous public education, DLC works to protect land while helping to channel new growth in ways which will reinforce our natural and agricultural landscapes and create balanced and sustainable communities.
At DLC we believe that a healthy economy and a healthy environment go hand-in-hand.
