The Mount Academy is a four-year high school for grades 9 – 12 founded by the Bruderhof, a Christian community movement. The Mount Academy strives to inspire its students to excellence in every undertaking, and to a life of serving and caring for others. All instruction seeks to instill respect, self-discipline, and a strong work ethic.
A low student/faculty ratio and small class sizes create an environment in which students can succeed. In addition to traditional academic studies, students take courses that enrich their understanding of religious and ethical issues. rigorous academic program is designed to challenge and inspire our students while fulfilling all the requirements for a high school diploma in the state of New York.
The credit requirements for The Mount Academy Diploma are equivalent to those of the New York State Regents Diploma. Students are required to achieve at least 22 units of credit in the following areas:
- 4 units of English Language Arts
- 4 units of Social Studies
- 3 units of Mathematics
- 3 units of Science
- .5 units of Health
- 1 unit of The Arts
- 1 unit of Languages other than English
- 2 units of Physical Education
- 3.5 units of Electives
