Since its founding in 1963, the Randolph School has stood as a beacon of progressive education in the Hudson Valley. Established by visionary parents and educators, the school seeks to reimagine the possibilities of childhood and learning. Drawing inspiration from the ideals of previous generations of progressive thinkers, Randolph has evolved into a distinctive embodiment of experiential living and education.

Randolph School serves children from ages 3 through 5th grade and welcomes applications from children of all age groups, even before they meet age eligibility. With a growing interest in outdoor, progressive education and a rising population in the Hudson Valley, the school is dedicated to responding to every inquiry and supporting families throughout the admissions process.

Pre-K (ages 3-5) is the primary entry point for students. However, many families join when their children become Kindergarten-eligible (age 5). Some enroll in their final year and at various stages.

The educational philosophy at Randolph School emphasizes hands-on, collaborative, and interdisciplinary exploration. Through meaningful experiences, children are encouraged to connect with their surroundings. The carefully designed learning environment and activities empower children to make choices and construct their understanding. Teachers develop educational experiences based on their insights into each child’s individual needs and on developmental and age-appropriate curricula.

Situated on 5 acres in the hamlet of Hughsonville, NY, within the Town of Wappinger, the Randolph School is enveloped by nature. Hunter Brook flows through the wooded area along the west side of the campus, with Reese Park positioned on the opposite bank.
