The Saugerties Lighthouse, originally built in 1869, stands as a proud landmark on the Hudson River. Today, it serves as a historical beacon, a Living Museum, and a renowned Bed & Breakfast.

The Lighthouse is under the ownership of the Saugerties Lighthouse Conservancy, a not-for-profit organization with the mandate to maintain and operate the Lighthouse for the public’s benefit. Additionally, the Conservancy is committed to educating visitors about the historical and cultural significance of this cherished Hudson River landmark, and to inform visitors of the value and heritage of the treasured landmark of the Hudson River.

Museum
Originally a bedroom, the Museum room now showcases the history of the Lighthouse and the Hudson River’s steamboat era. Displays feature models and images of steam liners that frequented Saugerties and photographs from the village’s horse-and-buggy days.

Bed and Breakfast
Experience the rustic simplicity of over a hundred years ago at the Saugerties Lighthouse Bed & Breakfast. Open Thursday through Sunday nights year-round, the inn is a unique place to relax and enjoy the seasons of the Hudson River Valley. Surrounded by water on a remote shoal, the Lighthouse is reached by walking a gentle half-mile trail. Popular activities include picnicking, bird-watching, fishing, photography, and relaxing by the riverside. A hearty breakfast is included with your overnight stay. You can carry food to the Lighthouse or sample some of the offerings in nearby Saugerties for other meals.
