The Poughkeepsie Riverfront Partnership was formed as a group of engaged citizens partnering for the future of Poughkeepsie’s waterfront. They are here to help educate the public about the rich history of the river, issues facing the shared waterfront, upcoming events, and ways to become involved.
The organization will be here to support events on the waterfront, beautification efforts, and investments to make Poughkeepsie’s waterfront an unparalleled destination for residents and visitors.
The Poughkeepsie Riverfront Partnership Vision:
Imagine a riverfront that is clean, safe, and accessible; bringing residents and visitors together for concerts, movies, exhibitions, festivals, eateries, boating and educational opportunities. Imagine a place that is centered around the people of our community.
Imagine a riverfront for our Poughkeepsie children to safely play, dogs to run, and friends and families to picnic together, or to just enjoy a solitary moment, along the river.
Imagine a riverfront that invites people to step off of the Walkway, leave their car in the parking lot and stop by a local eatery, gallery or small business. After their purchase or meal, continuing the scenic journey along one of the most breathtaking landscapes not only in the Hudson Valley, but in all of New York State.
This is the riverfront we could have… a riverfront that is vibrant, that pulls people to it, that helps create jobs and promote economic prosperity, and most importantly, a riverfront that can be enjoyed TODAY and for generations to come.
The Poughkeepsie Riverfront Partnership is recognized as a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
