Cowberry Crossing Farm is located on fifty acres in Claverack, New York. The farmers, Richard & Cecile Harrison are committed to local, humane, sustainable farming and the farm is certified both organic and biodynamic.
The small traditional family-run farm has a large and varied vegetable garden providing especially high quality produce for our customers. Animals found on the farm include chickens, ducks, turkeys, rabbits, sheep, pigs, cows, horses, cats, bees, and Glory, the border collie. All are fed organic feed and spend their days roaming freely on the farm.
Cowberry Crossing Farm has a Community Supported Agriculture program. Aside from produce, members get the option of first choice of eggs (a high demand item at the farmers markets that always sell out early) and first choice on chicken, beef, pork, lamb and rabbit.
Produce
Grown in their large and varied market garden according to the guidelines of Biodynamic agriculture.
Eggs
Eggs are perhaps our most sought after product. We regularly sell out of these at the farmers markets.
Poultry
Turkey & chicken. The poultry we offer include broiler or meat chicken, soup chicken (males from the laying flock), and turkeys.
Meats
Grass-Fed and Finished Beef & Lamb. Certified Organic Pork. The meats available from the farm come from their own free-range/pastured animals. They are humanely treated and fed organic feed. In addition, the animals gain additional nourishment by foraging as they roam the farm in the comfort of their own herd.
