Maple Hill Trees is a family-owned and operated Christmas tree grower that supports Schodack youth. They host the Castleton-Schodack Boy Scout and Cub Scout Christmas Tree Sales, where the Scouts earn money for camp and general troop and pack funds. The farm grows Fraiser Fir, Canaan Fir, Scotch Pine, and other varieties.

To assist the local Boy Scout Troop in making summer camp more affordable, Maple Hill Trees planted their first trees in 1983. Troop 53 and Pack 253 still sell Christmas Trees and Wreaths from Saturday after Thanksgiving until they sell out.

At Maple Hill Tree Farm, they not only offer the trees brought in by the Boy Scouts but also provide the unique opportunity to choose and cut your own tree. This personal touch ensures that customers find the perfect tree for their home. The Boy Scouts make the same profit on farm-grown trees as those they bring in to sell.

The farm also hosts pre-tag events in the fall, a fun and interactive way to select and tag a tree in the field. Visitors can bring a picnic lunch and enjoy some time outdoors while also having the opportunity to purchase crafts and handcrafted items. Best of all, customers don’t need to pay for their tree until they return to have it cut down.

Maple Hill Tree Farm has been in the Van Nederynen family since 1921. Today, they are focused on raising Christmas trees and supporting youth in the Schodack area. During the Christmas tree sales season, they offer rides to the fields pulled by their antique tractor and provide transportation for customers and their trees back to the parking area.
