“I’ve been setting the table for just about as long as I’ve been able to reach the top of it. But it wasn’t until the Spring of 1989 that I became passionate about it. Surprised by the simple beauty of a placemat and napkin set I made for a friend, I was inspired to see what else I could bring to the table.
One year later, I was hand-painting over one thousand placemats and napkins for a very big store in New York City from a wooden table in my bedroom. I quickly found I couldn’t fill the orders fast enough. Fortunately, New York is blessed with talent and I quickly found a handful of local artists, who continue to bring so much of their own exquisite talent to my designs, artfully rendering each piece a unique work of art.”
