Founder Jay Teske, who is passionate about vintage and antique motorcycles, initially ventured into custom motorcycle seat upholstery and founded Pirate Upholstery in 2006 after leaving the NYC tattoo trade. His journey began with a motorcycle tour across Asia with his wife and business partner, Hadas Liebermann.
Over the past decade, Jay has garnered a cult following among motorcyclists for handcrafting premium, bespoke leather motorcycle seats and bags. Notably, his work has been featured on the Discovery Channel’s “American Choppers” and was commissioned to construct the title belt for the 2015 World Wrestling Entertainment championship. In 2014, Jay and his wife expanded their offerings by launching Jay Teske Leather Co. with the aim of bringing Teske’s craftsmanship to a broader clientele.
