Carolyn Duke and her family moved to Sullivan County after exchanging their loft at Broadway and Houston for a studio complex in two barns, providing ample space for everyone in the family to pursue their creative passions. For Carolyn, that passion is pottery.

She primarily works with pinch pots, drawing inspiration from nature’s patterns and rhythms. Carolyn is attracted to simplicity in form, believing that beauty can be captured in a single gesture. Despite their simple design, each pot embodies a remarkable amount of energy. Each pot is unique, making finding the perfect one a delightful experience.

Duke Pottery includes an art gallery and gift shop that showcases the work of photographer Dana Duke and chairmaker Peter Galbert. In addition to pottery, visitors can find jewelry, rustic furniture, paintings, quilts, aromatherapy pillows, scarves, pastels, books, CDs, cards, wool, and maple syrup. A recording studio called Big Twig is also located on the premises.
