Staatsburgh State Historic Site and the surrounding Mills and Norrie State Parks offer a remarkable variety of environments nearby, creating an ideal setting for birding enthusiasts. Experienced birders will appreciate the opportunity to stroll through several fascinating habitats. Inexperienced birders will find encouragement and guidance throughout their experience, while beginners can discuss their equipment, valuable apps, and practical techniques with fellow birders. Additionally, participants will be vigilant in observing the diverse wildflowers that bloom throughout the park. Volunteer walk leader David Lund, who has dedicated himself to birding daily for the past 35 years, will share his wealth of knowledge and passion during the event.
