Austerlitz Historical Society is an educational non-profit community organization founded in 1988. Their mission is: to preserve, protect and interpret the history of Austerlitz. Their efforts are devoted to safeguarding the heritage, fostering civic pride, and promoting the Town’s historic resources.
Austerlitz Historical Society offers a full calendar of events and programs year-round, a quarterly newsletter, and a growing museum site, Old Austerlitz, where artifacts, photos and memorabilia relating to the Town are being collected and preserved, along with a collection of 18th and 19th century buildings. These buildings will augment the original one-room schoolhouse and 1850s church.
Weddings At Old Austerlitz
The bucolic grounds at Old Austerlitz are perfectly suited for your country wedding or other private event. The historic buildings dating from the 1790’s to the early 1800’s will provide the backdrop for your special day, from our interfaith Country Church to an old fashioned one-room Schoolhouse. The 1794 Morey-Devereaux House is appointed with fine furnishings and decor to take you back in time to the days of a simpler life. The Morey-Devereaux Barn is available for barn wedding receptions and wedding ceremonies can be held in the 1850s Church.
