Empanada Master Food Truck specializes in friendly service, great-tasting, masterfully crafted empanadas, and authentic Puerto Rican pastelillos. They use all fresh ingredients and adhere to an old family recipe.

The Empanada Master is an Estrada family business that began in 1971 when Ruben Estrada was just 18 years old. While completing his final year of high school, he saved enough money to have a friend purchase a step-in truck, which they then equipped with the necessary culinary tools. Ruben was fortunate to be positioned near a primary construction site in El Barrio on 108th St. and 1st Ave., now known as the 1199 Housing Plaza.

Today, after many years as an entrepreneur building various businesses and serving as a public official and civic leader from El Barrio to The White House, Ruben Estrada reflects on the path God placed him on, leading him back to the joy he found in his youth—cooking and feeding his community.
