Originally built 240 years ago near Albany, New York, the Handsome Hollow wedding barn has a rich history. It served as a working dairy barn until its relocation in the spring of 2014. The careful dismantling and cleaning process paved the way for its relocation, where, in October 2014, the timbers were delivered and the frame was reassembled on site in just 10 days. Following this, local craftsmen dedicated 8 months to meticulously working on the barn and its grounds until its completion in July 2015. This dedication to preserving and revitalizing such a remarkable piece of history adds an extra layer of significance to any gathering held at Handsome Hollow, making it a truly unique and memorable venue.

The House
The 19th-century farmhouse at Handsome Hollow has retained all of its original features, carefully re-imagined to create a modern, uncluttered atmosphere. The house boasts three beautifully adorned bedrooms and two striking oversized bathrooms. One bathroom features a vintage claw-foot soaking tub, while the other has floor-to-ceiling windows that view the private forest behind the house. The farmhouse also includes a well-equipped cook’s kitchen that opens into a comfortable sitting room with a wood stove. The 1500-square-foot wrap-around porch also offers stunning mountain views and breathtaking sunsets.
The Grounds
Handsome Hollow is situated on 93 acres of unspoiled natural beauty. It offers several options for your ceremony location. The first is a picturesque clearing in the forest, surrounded by ferns and maple trees, with nature in every direction. The second option is a breathtaking mountain view site, located in a spacious open field, where your guests will be comfortably seated. Lastly, a third option, just seconds from the barn, is situated inside the original barn ruins constructed from bluestone sourced from the property.
